More about me...
Raised in the small Dutch town of Lynden, Washington, I developed a lifelong passion for graphic design at a young age. Seeking a warmer climate, I relocated to Southern California to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Biola University.
Following my graduation and marriage, I experienced a challenging period of domestic abuse. With the support of close friends, I found the strength to leave the situation and prioritize my safety.
Upon returning to Fullerton, California, I embarked on a journey of healing. In February 2019, I shared my story on Facebook to raise awareness about domestic violence. The overwhelming response led to the founding of Speak Your Truth Today, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our Facebook support group now has over 19,000 members worldwide, and we have successfully assisted approximately three individuals per week in escaping abuse.
Driven by a deep commitment to ending domestic violence, I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home. Through my freelance design business, I proudly support non-profit organizations dedicated to helping survivors escape abuse.
Fun facts!
I had purple hair for about two years.
My favorite color! I really felt most myself while having purple hair. But I definitely do NOT miss the upkeep and price. It fades too fast, and is just too damn expensive!
I have a little kitty named Truffle.
My cat brings me so much joy, but can also be a little shit. Apologies in advance if he makes an appearance on Zoom calls.
I grew up on an apple farm in Washington.
My dad was an apple farmer for the first 12 years of my life! I grew up with a bunch of stray dogs, played with my older brother in the dirt, and became an apple snob.
